Nelson Mullins’ Washington, D.C. Office Managing Principal and Government Relations Group Leader Chris Cushing was ranked by The Hill in its annual Top Lobbyists list. Cushing was named among the top "hired gun" lobbyists in Washington, D.C., and has earned the honor five years in a row.

According to the news organization, The Hill’s Top Lobbyists 2024 list reflects the impactful corporate lobbyists, hired guns, association leaders, and grassroots activists who “are some of the best in the business and have been go-to advocates during a year defined by unprecedented political events, legislative logjams, federal spending cut crusades, and big rulemaking swings by the outgoing Biden administration.”
Cushing leads Nelson Mullins’ firmwide federal and state lobbying practice and is the first non-lawyer in the firm’s 125-year history to chair a team and lead a firm office. He has 35 years of experience in government, politics, and corporate public policy issues. Cushing is an experienced political advisor and strategist, having served in leadership positions on winning presidential campaigns on three continents.
