She advises clients on cutting-edge technologies, such as AI, biometric data, data analytics, and other emerging technologies.  She assists clients with drafting privacy policies and procedures, cross-border data transfer agreements, privacy impact assessments, and advises clients on other privacy compliance matters and product counseling. Jennie is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E).

As part of her practice, Jennie helps clients across industries identify, understand and manage privacy and information security risks, including evaluating a client’s obligations under GDPR, CCPA, other U.S. state and federal privacy and data security requirements, and global data protection laws (including those in the EU/UK, Canada, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America). Areas of focus include use of sensitive data (such as location data, children’s/teens’ data, health-related data), surveillance and use of tracking technologies/cookies/ad tech, and national security and cross-border related matters.

Jennie also dedicates pro bono efforts to various causes, including providing legal services for veterans and service members, and environmental and disaster relief efforts.

  • Advises clients on international and U.S. federal and state privacy laws, policies and regulations, including the California Consumer Privacy Act/California Privacy Rights Act and other US state privacy laws, Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, consumer health data laws, AI regulations and guidance, U.S. intelligence and surveillance laws, minor/social media laws, the EU General Data Protection Regulation, and the EU Digital Strategy regulations.
  • Advises clients on national security law, foreign policy, and international trade matters, including data protection issues, such as the impact of Schrems II, national surveillance and intelligence frameworks, cross-border data transfers, data transfer impact assessments, sanctions and export controls.
